audition for overflow ministry outreach
We are thrilled that you want to join the Overflow Ministry Outreach team! The heart of A Time To Dance has always been to bless the community with the art of dance and to be set apart in love, kindness, and servitude. Overflow Ministry Outreach is an opportunity for students of A Time To Dance to use their talents in dance to serve in ministry in our community and surrounding communities. It is also an opportunity to grow community within the studio amongst dancers who have a heart to serve the Lord through dance.
John 7:38 states, “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” We desire that students of ATTD who are interested in joining the ministry prayerfully consider their involvement. As a member of Overflow, we want to set ourselves apart as examples of Christ-like behavior in our attitudes, speech, and interactions with others. We want the overflow of our hearts to be life-giving, encouraging, and Christ-honoring. There will be accountability when you join Overflow as we will consider your audition to indicate that you are willing to submit to the authority of those above you in leadership. We don’t expect perfection but rather a person whose heart is willing to submit to Godly authority.
Days and times for ministry outreach will depend on students’ availability. We will refrain from scheduling events on Saturdays as much as possible as we know most students are involved in the spring and Nutcracker performances and have dedicated those days to rehearsals. We ask that you carefully review the application and prayerfully consider the time commitment as we will require meeting one hour a week to learn choreography and will aim for at least twelve performances per year.
After prayerfully considering your commitment to Overflow Ministry Outreach, attend the scheduled audition. We hope this ministry will grow to bless those within the studio, our city, and surrounding cities! Our heart is to reach the saved and unsaved alike to bring them hope and joy of the Lord through the art of dance. We specifically desire to reach those who live in impoverished communities and may never have had the chance to see a live dance performance.
